Self Assessment Readiness Tool™ for Paramedics

Paramedics provide front-line emergency services and healthcare in difficult and uncontrolled environments. They play a key role to ensure that the sick and injured are assessed, receive medical care and are transported to an appropriate health facility.

This tool is designed to help you understand the requirements for employment in Canada. It describes what you are required to know and to do. It outlines the competencies, knowledge and skills that you must have to work in Canada.

This tool consists of five parts:

Part 3- Coming to Canada
Part 4- Case Scenarios
Part 5- Competency Assessment 

This tool is meant to be a guide for your personal use. Your answers to questions will not be recorded or evaluated by anyone other than you. This tool does not provide any assurance of your ability to obtain employment in Canada. It will not be used by any regulatory bodies in Canada to determine your eligibility for registration.  There is no link between completion of this tool and formal licensure or certification.
