Self Assessment Readiness Tool™ for Early Childhood Development Specialists

Early Childhood Development Specialists provide care and support the growth and development of children aged birth to twelve years. The scope of practice varies from child minding to providing programming for children with special needs.

This tool is designed to help you understand the requirements for employment in Canada. It describes what you are required to know and to do. It outlines the competencies, knowledge and skills that you must have to work in Canada. 

This tool contains five parts:

Part 5- Competency Assessment 

This tool is meant to be a guide for your personal use. Your answers to questions will not be recorded or evaluated by anyone other than you. This tool does not provide any assurance of your ability to obtain employment in Canada.  It will not be used by any regulatory bodies in Canada to determine your eligibility for registration.  There is no link between completion of this tool and formal licensure or certification.
